The work and ministries of St John’s is generously funded through the sacrificial giving of the congregation. We believe that everything we have been given, is not our own but given from God.
Ways to give
The best way to give to St John’s is by setting up a regular payment to the church bank account. You can do this by setting up a standing order from your own bank.
Account Name: St John’s PCC
Bank: Lloyds (University Branch)
Sort Code: 30-19-14
Account Number: 02805123
We have regular collections at all of our Sunday gatherings, where you can put cash*, cheques or charity vouchers (payable to St John’s PCC).
*if you are a UK tax payer please place the gift in an envelope with your name and address indicating that we can claim gift aid.
You can donate regularly or make a one-off payment with a card through our online system.
Please note we are charged a small transaction fee for each payment, so we recommend regular standing orders be processed through your bank. It is possible to claim gift aid at the point of transaction through this method.
You may wish to consider leaving a legacy to St John’s in your will. We would encourage you to leave any finances to the general fund of St John’s Harborne.
Please speak to your solicitor when making or changing your will.
Building for Mission
Our mission to extend our current church building started in 2017. You can follow our progress more in depth, including the financial updates on our Building for Mission page. If you wish to make a contribution to the Building for Mission fund you can do so by any of the methods mentioned above quoting ‘BFM’, or alternatively complete a pledge form.
Gift Aid makes such an enormous difference to our overall giving. If you are a UK tax payer you can increase the amount of your gift by completing a Gift Aid Declaration form. This will allow us to claim an additional 25p for every £1 you give at no cost to you and if you are a 40% taxpayer you will receive tax relief.
Whenever you buy something online you could be collecting free donations for St John’s. There are 3,174 registered shops and sites involved and the best news is, there are no additional charges for you.
To sign up, simply go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk and support the cause 'St John's BFM' and start raising money! You can download a reminder button, that will prompt you to raise money on sites that collect commission. After you have paid for your items the retailer will make a donation to St John’s Building for Mission project.
