Sundays
Find out more about our Sunday gatherings here. You are most welcome at our 10.00 & 18.00 gatherings.
St John’s has a thriving community of ‘Seniors’ who love to share life together.
We want to see the older generations flourish later in life, through experiencing new opportunities, developing close friendships, and providing general and spiritual support. Here at St John’s, we prioritise pastoral visits to ensure that people feel supported through the different seasons of their life. You would be more than welcome to join us on a Sunday or at any of our midweek gatherings.

Thursday weekly (excluding August) | 10.30 - 11.15 | St John’s
Each week we run a quieter service arranged with the needs of older people in mind. The service is under an hour and is suitable for those who may find the longer Sunday gatherings difficult. Midweek service is followed by refreshments. On the third Thursday of each month we also share Holy Communion together. Transport may be able to be arranged by contacting our Pastor for Older People, Catriona Foster.
We run a series of ‘Faith Chat’ sessions where older people can meet together and explore issues of life and faith. Everyone is welcome!
Topics covered so far include:
Pilgrim’s Progress - Nine sessions based on John Bunyan’s epic tale
Growing Faith - Six sessions using illustrations from the world of gardening
Not Getting Any Younger - Five sessions looking at issues of older age and what the Bible says
The Hiding Place - Six sessions based on the story of Corrie Ten Boom
Famous Lives - Exploring the lives and faith of eight famous people
A fantastic way to get stuck into St John’s is to join a small group. This is a place to get to know people better. Check out our small groups page to find out how to join one.
We often journey alongside people who have dementia, giving them and their families support. Our Seniors Pastor, Catriona, regularly goes into a local Residential Home, leading a service for those with dementia.
