Staying Connected, Growing Connections

I’ve now been WFH (working from home) for the past 15 months and remain amazed at how God has enabled me to thrive in my role as PA to the UK Director of Agapé UK while in the midst of a global pandemic. Sorry, it’s those two (big) little words again, but this is our reality and I’ve seen both personally and professionally this year how God can use difficult circumstances to grow, challenge and inspire us.

Our online Ministry Partner Event

Last time I updated you I mentioned our intention to exploit the growing digital sphere to reach the 97% of the UK who don’t yet know Jesus, as online platforms are often a safe ‘first step’ for those exploring issues of faith, and the different ministries have really knocked this one out of the park! Family Life have held regular ‘Couples’ Talks’ online, the Christian Embassy hosted a virtual womens’ afternoon tea with the Rev. Rose Hudson Wilson the guest of honour, and the Student Ministry have been very active on Tik Tok and Instagram, connecting with students when campuses remain largely empty.

The leadership team press on with implementing the five-year focus to partner with churches to help them equip their congregations to share their faith, building our resources centre and fundraising to finance this. Our desire is that every person in the UK has the opportunity to discover Jesus and live their life to the full in relationship with Him. Our online Ministry Partner Event was a huge success, showcasing all Agapé UK has been doing this year- do take a look!

The central team has stayed connected through Microsoft Teams, weekly meetings and ‘prayer and share’ bubbles, and has enjoyed discovering some of our disciple-making resources. If you’d like some ideas on how to share your faith as a natural part of everyday life, do check out our resources centre:

We do need more team members though, so if you know anyone who might be interested in joining us, please ask them to take a look at our current vacancies:

One big answer to prayer was being able to leave my two days a week in HR and concentrate on serving the UK director, Leadership and Council. Please pray for me as I settle into my new role and continue to navigate the choppy Covid waters. I am physically and mentally exhausted, and am looking forward to a period of rest over the summer. I haven’t written for our website for some time as I don’t have the brain space! Prayer for rest and continued healing from a fractured bone in my foot which has prevented me from enjoying my much-needed lockdown walks would also be welcome, that I would return from my time off with renewed energy and determination for all the Lord has called me to.

Thank you for your support.
