“Who is the King of glory? The Lord of hosts - he is the KIng of glory!” (Ps. 24:10)
2026 has been a busy year. In March we celebrated the Premiere of the new, slightly abridged, version of our 1993 musical, Angel Voices. This is the first I wrote with Roger Jones and is based on themes from the book of Revelation. Great to sing together, “Worthy is the Lamb!” and declare, “Come, Lord Jesus!” (If you weren’t able to attend in person, a video is available via YouTube - see CMM website above for details.)
Through the year, Roger, his assistant Annie Routley and various teams have led the usual music workshops, concerts and holiday weeks around the country, using material old and new. (Details of upcoming events are below.)
And meanwhile, as mentioned in previous updates, Roger and I have been working hard to complete a new musical, So here it is - almost!
The Stranger.
The Stranger covers almost all of the Gospel story, from Jesus’ arrival in Galilee. He is the Stranger who intrigues, delights and challenges many. In Galilee, then in Judaea, in usually hostile Samaria, and from the humblest folk to the highest religious and Roman officials, the question asked repeatedly is, “Who is the Stranger? Is he the one people say he is?” We pray that all who hear will be led to respond, “He is the King of glory!” and let him in,
Book the date — Premiere of The Stranger, Saturday 19 June 2027, Bromsgrove Baptist Church
You are warmly invited to come and join us at this celebration. Tickets will be available from CMM nearer the time, but space is limited so don't leave it too late!
Participate — Come and sing in the congregational recording at Holy Trinity Church, Lickey, Bromsgrove, on Saturday 13 March 2027, 2-4.30pm.
And please keep praying for all involved in finishing writing, arranging and recording.
Most songs are completed with many already in the process of being arranged.
Soloists are being chosen, ready to record in early 2027.
Narrative links (my task) are still to be written. Less urgency with these than the music, but the right words are still fairly important!
Pray that Roger and I, and all involved, are open to God’s guidance on this project (and willing to cut, expand or otherwise change what we’ve written, performed or recorded as needed).
