Give Up to Give Away

The Children’s Ministry are inviting all of us to ‘Give Up to Give Away’ over Lent. They will be supporting the foodbank by donating items they are giving up for Lent! You can join in in one of three ways:

1. Pick an item that the foodbank needs and give that up. (then donate it!)

2. Donate the money you would spend on whatever you are giving up

3. If what you are giving up is not needed by the foodbank, choose a ‘substitute item’ and buy and donate that in place of what you have given up. (Why not try BCM's hygiene poverty Lent calendar?)

You can either take your items to your nearest collection point, or wait for details of our collections towards the end of Lent. You can make financial donations directly via the foodbank website.

The Lent Bible Challenge

The youth team have a challenge for you: can you read all four Gospels through Lent?

If you're a young person and would like to join in, sign up here to join a WhatsApp/Instagram group.

If you're an adult whose up for the challenge, follow along with their plan here.

Healing Prayer Centre Lenten Course

As previously advertised, the Healing Prayer Centre have created 40 short bible studies to lead us though Lent. In each there is a thought, Bible verses, a couple of questions to help direct your reflection and a direction for prayer. We prayerfully hope that it will draw people closer to God during this transition time before new and exciting times ahead.

Find these here.

PrayBrum40

Having prayer-walked the postcodes of Birmingham over 40 days last summer, Andy Mackie (Executive Pastor at Riverside Church) has turned his pilgrimage into an excellent-quality, full-colour booklet, and would like to encourage us to pray for Birmingham through the 40 days of Lent.

It’s a journey through the streets of Birmingham as well as a journey through the books of the Bible and includes scriptures, prayer points and 200+ images and stories from the communities. £5 per booklet with a discount for multiple buys.
