Cuthbert Family - Betel UK

It was such a joy to join many of you at the recent mission’s Powerhouse service. Thank you for having me and for your continued support of us as a family as we serve with Betel UK in Birmingham.

We feel so privileged to be involved with what the Lord is doing in the lives of so many men and women. When addictions, homelessness and hopelessness are rife it’s so wonderful to be able to offer people hope and safety, and point them to God.

A few weeks ago, we celebrated with heaven as we watched nine of our very own men declare their faith and devotion to Christ through baptism. How wonderful to hear how Jesus had turned their life around, and how he was continuing to give them hope, joy, restoration and new purpose in life. Hallelujah! Please pray that these nine men would stand firm with Jesus and others would follow their example.

As well as discipleship, we love seeing how God restores families and brings new families together. With this means the increasing need for accommodation for these couples and families. We’ve embarked on a new building project on our Coventry residential site, building 4 ground level apartments on our Coventry site; two 2-bedroom and two 4-bedroom apartments. Please pray that the project would go smoothly, that God would provide the final funds needed, and that these flats would be a place of peace and joy for families.

On the topic of buildings, our HQ Anchor Point had its café double doors broken into last week by an opportunistic burglar who decided to drive a car into the doors in the early hours of the morning. He left with nothing, but sadly left us with a significant mess to fix. Please pray for Mark as he coordinates the fixing, and pray for protection over our buildings across our Betel centres.

As many are aware, the November/December season for Betel is very busy and very important for us with carolling, events and work which raises financial funds that help us through the quieter month of January. Please pray that the Lord would continue to bring new people into Betel and that they would stay to experience a Betel family Christmas. Please pray for good health and energy for those in each of our centres, for joy and peace in amongst the busyness and that the necessary finances would be raised.

Thank you for your prayers and friendship, and we trust that this season will be a blessing for you.

With our love, Mark, Ruth, Harvey and Sophia
