Christmas At Resurrection Church - Krista & Hikmat Kashouh

We are deeply grateful for your continued support and prayers as we serve the people of Lebanon through Resurrection Church. God has been faithful to sustain us through many difficult years, and today we write to you with hope, excitement, and great expectation for what He is doing in our midst.

CHRISTMAS AT RESURRECTION CHURCH — A SEASON OF HOPE

The past six years in Lebanon have been marked by hardship. Our nation has walked through a revolution, economic collapse, war, and the global pandemic — each season leaving deep challenges for our communities. Yet, through all of it, our desire as a church has remained the same: to bring the hope of Jesus to people who desperately long for it.

This year, for the first time in a long while, we sense a renewed spirit of hope across Lebanon. We believe the Lord is opening a door for us to offer a Christmas experience unlike any before — one that radiates joy, peace, and the message of Christ to our nation and beyond.

THE CHRISTMAS JOURNEY — THREE BEAUTIFUL STOPS

To bring this vision to life, Resurrection Church has created a three-part Christmas journey, welcoming families, children, and communities from every background:

1. Christmas Theatre — December 12, 13, 14

A live theatrical portrayal of the Christmas story presented in a creative and powerful way. Over 150 volunteers are participating — actors, singers, dancers, technicians, and servant-hearted teams all working together to bring the gospel to life. Our son Markus is both the writer and director of the play, investing his passion, love, and experience in theatre.

2. Christmas Village — Four Days of Celebration

A warm and joyful outdoor experience filled with food stalls, children’s activities, crafts, music, gifts, and attractions for all ages. A space where families can laugh, rest, and encounter Christian love in practical ways.

3. Christmas Family Service — December 25

A worship gathering celebrating the birth of Jesus — the true Light of the world. Our desire is that every person who walks through our doors will experience the hope, peace, and restoration that only Christ can give.

Our prayer is simple: that Resurrection Church would shine as a beacon of hope in Lebanon — a place where brokenness meets healing, and where darkness meets the Light of Christ.

GROWING CHURCH, EXPANDING VISION

As the Lord continues to grow our congregation, we are praying and working toward the completion of two important projects:

• Finalizing the purchase of the land adjacent to our church.

• Completing the interior development of our new steel-frame hall, designed to hold nearly 1,000 people at one time.

Space is scarce and expensive in Lebanon, yet our location is strategic — positioned along a major presidential road and near communities historically outside the Christian faith. We believe God placed us here with purpose.

THE NEED AROUND US — AND OUR CALL TO RESPOND

More than half of Lebanon’s population lives below the poverty line. Many families cannot afford medical care. Countless children are kept from school due to high costs, while public schools struggle to survive.

In this reality, the church must not step back — it must step forward.

We are committed to sustaining ministries of compassion, discipleship, and community care, offering practical support and spiritual hope to those who have nowhere else to turn.

A MOMENT OF THANKFUL CELEBRATION

Last month, we celebrated Pastor Hikmat’s 50th birthday, giving thanks for his life, leadership, and faithful service over 17 years of ministry in Lebanon. We are grateful for the countless lives touched through his obedience and for all God has yet to do through him.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer, support, and love. We move forward with joy, trusting that God will continue to build His church, bring healing to our nation, and shine His light through His people.

With gratitude and hope.
