Retold: Stories You Thought You Knew | Adam & Eve | James Gandon
This summer, we are revisiting some of the most familiar Sunday School stories and allowing them to speak again with fresh depth. The vision for this series is not nostalgia or simple reflection, but transformation, moving people from familiar stories they can recall to encounters with the living God who still speaks, confronts, forms, and redeems through Scripture. These are not children’narratives through which God continues to shape His people.
Over time, many of these stories have been simplified, made into lessons or images that risk losing their weight and complexity. Yet when we return to them carefully, we discover they are rich, often uncomfortable accounts of real human struggle, covering themes of fear, faith, calling, failure, obedience and redemption. They are not just stories to be learned from, but stories that reveal to us the character and purposes of God and creating space to hear God’thought we already understood.
