'Gearing Up for our Busiest Month of the Year...'

Betel, nationally and internationally, has found it tough rebuilding numbers since the start of Covid, despite seeing so much desperate need around us. In Birmingham we’ve recently had a few long-term people leave suddenly which shakes those who remain and adds responsibility on those who are already so busy. Pray that our men and women would dig deep, remembering why they came to Betel, and find a new strength in Jesus. Pray also that people would pick up the phone for help, come in and stay.

Betel’s new business areas at Anchor Point, Aston are growing and developing well. We have recently started hiring out parts of the building to other Churches looking for space, and for private functions. We are excited to see what relationships are built through these opportunities and are grateful for the local networking that has already begun.

Mark and I feel settled in our new offices at Anchor Point and are enjoying our varied roles within Betel UK and Anchor Point Church. We so want to be a beacon and anchor place for the local community of Nechells/Aston, where there is so much need. Pray for local connections and intentional meetings. I have been so encouraged that the Toddler group we started seems to be reaching mums of other religions and from very different countries. Pray that these relationships build and more would be interested in the Toddler group, and experience the love of Jesus. Pray also that we would find ways of connecting with those more hidden mums.

Betel nationally is gearing up for our busiest month of the year, December, during which each centre has multiple teams out daily down high streets and in shopping centres carol singing. The income that December brings supports our centres through the first couple of months of the next year; so, it is such a crucial month for us. Please pray for generous hearts, for favourable weather (no rain!!) and for a joy and enthusiasm in each of us who will be out there. It can be tough, tiring but also wonderful, fun and a fantastic opportunity.

We are so grateful for your prayers for us and the work of Betel. Thank you!
