V.E Day 2020

I’m sure you couldn’t have missed the fact that this year was the 75th anniversary of V.E day. While the changed bank holiday didn’t go exactly as planned, lots of people still had a great time celebrating despite the lockdown. We asked you for some photos of what you got up to for the 75th anniversary of V.E day and you sent us some crackers!

Read on for information about how we blessed a small number of older people in our church too…

Some of our older church members and friends received a ‘cream tea in a bag’ on VE Day to help them celebrate that special occasion and to remind them of the victory and peace we have in Christ.

Catriona writes: 'One of the recipients immediately removed the Union Jack serviette from her bag and stuck it on her window as decoration. Others were reminiscing about what they were doing on that day 75 years ago, and one lady reminded me that this time last year, they were enjoying the Prime Time Reunion cream tea in our church building! All were really keen to chat and valued the opportunity to see a friendly face, albeit from a safe distance. They also loved the surprise element. God speaks in His word about being generous and sharing with others and He has given gifts of creative thought and ability, inspiring people and enabling different ways of blessing others in these strange times.'
